Myra & Company opened in 1979 in a small cottage with Myra and one other employee. A day spa was added in 1996. In 1999 the business expanded into a 3,000-square-foot salon that also included a movement studio, a cafe and a gift boutique, and alternative medicine was added to the spa menu. In 2021 it moved to a 1,200-square-foot space on Dixie Highway, two blocks south of the original location. That move trimmed some amenities, widened the service menu and added parking.

The salon describes its approach as head-to-toe beauty in a warm, professional setting. Services are grouped into hair, a hair art studio, body, skin, nails and makeup. Hair work covers cuts, blowouts, braids, extensions, color, foils, balayage, relaxers and perms, plus treatments. Skin services include facials, chemical peels, microneedling, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, electrolysis and waxing. Body services include several massage styles, a body scrub and massage add-ons. The nail menu runs from classic manicures and pedicures to IBX nail strengthening and a quick-dry polish system, and the makeup menu includes lash extensions, lash and brow services, makeup applications and makeup lessons.

Facials are performed with the Connect Brand unless a client asks for something else. The facial menu uses botanical-extract products and disposable sponges, and includes manual extractions. Eminence Organic Skincare, a vegan line from Hungary, is offered in 30, 60 and 90 minute sessions, and the salon notes it is suitable for all skin types, including rosacea. Facial Care 101 is designed for young adults aged 10 to 14. Clients who have had fillers or Botox are asked to wait two weeks before a facial.

The salon offers memberships through a Membership Menu. Cancellations are asked to be made 24 hours in advance. It is open Monday from 10am to 5pm and Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm. The phone number is 305-661-2381.
