The business moved from Oakland to Walnut Creek during the pandemic and later opened its Pleasant Hill salon. Its guiding idea is that healthy hair does not have to be complicated. Education sits at the center of the work, covering how curls behave and what a practical daily routine can look like.

Services are grouped into color, cuts and treatments. Custom curly cuts are the core offering. New clients begin with an in-depth consultation, an educational session and a recorded styling tutorial to take home. Color runs from single process to grey blending or coverage with a cut, to partial and full highlights. A scalp or ends treatment can be added to a cut, and a detox, treatment and cut package combines the full sequence.

Before a visit, hair should be dry, freshly washed, conditioned and air dried, with little or no product, and not put up. Clients are asked to avoid diffusing beforehand so the curl pattern can be assessed. Online booking shows availability about five to six weeks ahead, and a waitlist form covers earlier openings. Clients can request a hair adjustment within one to two weeks of a service by text or email. First-time color clients are generally asked to book a cut first and return for color.

Starting July 2026, the salon plans to train new curl specialists using its own methodology. The program is open to new graduates and to experienced stylists.

The salon works from the idea that healthy hair should be simple to care for, and it teaches clients how their curls work and how to build a routine they can keep up at home.
