Monarch Salon Collective brings together beauty artists in one space in the historic district of downtown Frederick. Rather than working as employees of a single salon, each artist owns and operates their own business within it.

Because every stylist runs a separate practice, clients book with the individual they want to see. Appointments are made by contacting that stylist directly, and the salon works by appointment only. Stylists and owners share the building while keeping their own clients, schedules and methods.

The team includes stylists who are licensed cosmetologists. Their listed backgrounds combine classroom study with hands-on training and continuing education.

The salon gives each artist the freedom to practice their craft in their own way, which it says leads to better work and a higher standard for beauty services.
