Illuminate Beauty Studio focuses on hair extensions and hair color from its location on the edge of downtown Frederick. The studio's stated vision is to make extensions and color feel ordinary and celebrated as a way to boost confidence. Its mission centers on training in and delivering high-quality extensions and color in a welcoming, clean and comfortable setting. Extensions are Invisible Bead Extensions (IBE), installed at the studio. The studio calls this its own patented method and says its extensions are the healthiest and best-looking on the market; those are the studio's own claims. Three packages are offered. Plump It Up is one row for added volume only, from $875 to $1,325. A Little Something Extra is two rows for length and volume, from $1,625 to $2,845. Max Mode is three rows for maximum volume and length, from $1,985 to $4,200 or more. Packages include extension hair, installation, custom coloring of the extension hair, an extension haircut and an at-home care kit, while the client's own hair color is an extra cost. These prices are estimates, and an exact quote is given at the complimentary consultation, which is required before any extension package. A deposit equal to the cost of the extension hair is due to book installation. Extensions are fully removed and reinstalled every 7 to 10 weeks, depending on hair type, lifestyle and row placement, and the extension hair itself is replaced every 7 to 10 months, depending on home care.

Color sessions include root color, all-over color or gloss, dimensional highlights, lowlights, balayage and foilayage, and color transformations. Anyone who is new to the studio, switching stylists, or returning after six or more months away books a new guest session, which begins with an unhurried consultation. New guest Classic Color is $167 with Laura and $200 with Alyssa. Dimensional Color is $240 with Laura and $270 with Alyssa. Transformation Color starts at $310 with Laura and $320 with Alyssa, and it requires a complimentary consultation, offered in person or virtually. The New Guest Cut, which includes a relaxing shampoo, haircut and blowdry, is $92 with Laura and $117 with Alyssa. Color sessions include a standard amount of product for average length and density, and any extra product is discussed before service. The studio is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM on two Saturdays a month, and it is closed Sunday and Monday.
