Mary Koontz is the director and owner, and she states she has 30 years of experience in the beauty industry. The school's mission is to provide education, hands-on training and a supportive learning environment for people starting careers in beauty.

Programs run in cosmetology, barbering, esthetics, manicuring, hairstyling and cosmetology instruction, with day and night sessions. The cosmetology program covers hair through skincare. The barbering program focuses on precision cuts, fades and men's grooming, and a 200-hour barber crossover course is offered for licensed cosmetologists who want to add barbering. The esthetician program covers facials, waxing and advanced esthetic techniques, and the manicuring program covers manicures, pedicures, Gel-X and acrylics. A cosmetology instructor program prepares students to teach beauty skills.

Clients visiting for services should know that all salon and spa services are performed by students under supervision, with licensed cosmetologists, barbers, estheticians and manicurists overseeing the work. Student services take extra time, and some may not be fully completed before closing. Appointments are recommended, and walk-ins are accepted on a limited basis depending on student availability. Client hours are Monday through Thursday from 10:30am to 7:00pm and Friday from 10:30am to 3:00pm.

Prices listed by the school are often starting prices, and the design fee for acrylic or Gel-X work varies with complexity. Adjustments requested within five days of a service are complimentary, but refunds are not offered, and the business reserves the right to refuse service. The school accepts cash, debit and major credit cards, with a 3% surcharge on credit card payments. Students may be tipped in cash, Venmo or Zelle, but cash back and tipping on a client's behalf are not offered.
