Moderne Beauty & Aesthetics welcomed its first public clients in October 2008, following a stretch in which owner Monina Wright ran the business from her home studio. The current studio occupies the second floor of the Longevity Medical Institute building on Lark Ave, and draws clients from Willow Glen, Los Gatos, Saratoga, the Silicon Valley area and the broader Bay Area.

Facial visits begin with a skin analysis and a consultation, and the treatment is chosen after that. New facial clients receive a questionnaire by email to complete before their appointment. Most facials run 60 to 90 minutes, and extractions are done with steam, enzymes and a gently vibrating scrubber instead of metal tools. The menu runs from quick lunchtime facials and chemical peels to Vitamin A rituals, Osmosis treatments, MicroChanneling, TriFusion, a needle-free Bio-Renewal facial, and a Visia-based teen facial that includes a full skin analysis. Monthly facial memberships are offered in Essential, Enhanced and Luxe tiers, and facial enhancements can be added to a facial from $25.

Waxing is offered for the face and body and the studio describes itself as specializing in speed waxing. Hard wax is made from Berodin, which is used on sensitive areas such as the bikini line, face and underarms because it grips the hair rather than the skin. A Brazilian or bikini wax takes 15 to 30 minutes, and first-time Brazilian service is listed at $92. Men's waxing covers areas from brows and ears to the full back and full leg.

Brides can book hair and makeup, facials, or bridal party packages, either at the studio or at a location of their choosing around the Bay Area, with some select destinations also available. The Moderne Bridal Prep Plan is a skin preparation program that begins three to six months before the wedding and combines corrective facials, hydration support, brow shaping and adjustments to home care. About six to eight weeks before the date, a bridal preview takes place. It includes a skin prep check, choosing foundation and complexion shade, designing the eyes, lips, cheeks and lashes, deciding on hair direction, and reviewing photos taken in natural light. The salon recommends booking a preview, and most clients reserve six to twelve months in advance. A free bridal consultation can be held by video call on Zoom or in person. According to the salon, its bridal makeup is applied by licensed makeup artists. Pricing is tailored to location, timing, party size and chosen services, and listed prices are starting points only.

Branding and on-camera makeup is offered for headshots, podcast appearances, content days and video shoots, arranged as custom packages. Clients start with an inquiry form. Custom Blend foundations are mineral-based and matched to each client, with liquid or powder forms and matte, glowing or natural finishes; they are made without chemicals, fillers, dyes or bismuth oxychloride and contain zinc as a natural sunscreen. The salon also hosts The Beauty Lab Podcast and lists preferred vendors for weddings and events. The salon says it has been featured in The New York Times, Glam.com, Bustle, PureWow and Style Me Pretty.

Every service is shaped around the client's goals, skin condition, features and lifestyle, with a skin-first approach that starts from analysis and consultation before a treatment is chosen.
