Modern Electrolysis focuses on permanent hair removal in the Silicon Valley. The studio is in Suite J-215 of Winchester Plaza, with two free private parking lots serving the complex. Drivers heading north on Winchester Blvd can cut through the Bethel Church lot to reach the plaza lot and avoid a U-turn at Williams Road. The back lot is closest to the office, and public restrooms sit at either end of the building.
Visits take place in a private lobby with comfortable, modern furniture. Clients who would rather wait outside can sit on shaded benches among the trees, plants and flowers on the grounds. The treatment bed is wide, long, padded and fully electric, and there are bolster pillows available. Longer treatments include short stretch breaks.
New clients usually book a consultation first, which involves no treatment and costs $90. If the client arrives on time, that fee is deducted from the first electrolysis session. Clients who have had electrolysis before can skip the consultation. First-time clients should arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to fill out a questionnaire and consent form. Standard sessions run 30, 45 or 60 minutes, and longer appointments of up to three hours are available. Fifteen-minute sessions are for recurring clients and are arranged by text or email. Clients are charged for the full booked time, so late arrivals shorten the session.
Booking is done through the online tool, and cancellations or reschedules are accepted up to 24 hours ahead. The business no longer answers the phone, so callers can leave their name, number, a good time to call and a short message, or write to the email address on the site. Hours are Thursday through Sunday, 8am to 6pm. The studio does not accept insurance but provides a SuperBill invoice for clients to submit for reimbursement, with payment due on the day of treatment. The business says client information is used only by the electrologist and is not shared. Possible side effects of hair removal include scabbing, temporary darkening of the skin, and rarely scarring.
Treatments use insulated probes rather than needles. Thermolysis is the usual starting method, and the blend method is used for tougher hair.
A calm, modern private lobby with a shaded, tree-lined garden area outside.
