Emily Tilden

Emily Tilden is an electrologist at Modern Electrolysis in San Jose, offering permanent hair removal. She holds an active California electrologist license and is a member of the American Electrology Association. She trained at the California Electrology Academy in Southern California and passed the California State Board Exam after graduating. She spent more than 25 years in the high tech industry before moving into electrology, working at non-profits, startups, high tech firms and global Fortune 100 companies. She began electrology work after returning to school, following years of regular electrolysis as a client. Her expertise is in thermolysis, which she prefers. She has worked on every part of the body, and about half of her clients have hair removed from the face and neck. She is known for removing fine hair on the eyelids and often takes on difficult cases. She prefers longer sessions of up to three hours. She keeps her skills current through the Electrology Education Coalition, which offers continuing education from weekly Zoom calls to paid classes, and plans to attend the national convention and seminars. She has also hosted a meeting of the Zappers, an informal Northern California electrologist group, at her office.
