Modern Collective Salon was started by Hallie Alford and Maria Cano, who had been friends for years before they opened it together. The two founders have a combined experience of more than three decades in the hair industry.
The salon is set up as a collective of independent stylists. It is meant both as a place for newer stylists to grow and as a place for more experienced stylists to work, and the founders aim to build a sense of community and belonging among the team and its clients.
Stylists offer haircuts, color, extensions and smoothing treatments. A consultation is available for choosing cuts, colors and styles that suit a client's face shape. Extension options include hand-tied, tape-in, kera-tip and i-tip methods, and smoothing services include keratin treatments and silk press styling.
Appointments can be booked online through the BOOK NOW links on the website, or by calling the salon during business hours. The salon describes its hair styling experience as luxurious and personalized.
