Mod Skin is a small studio on West Sunset Boulevard, founded and run by licensed esthetician Aly Mac. The studio focuses on combining device-based treatments with a whole-skin view, addressing concerns on the surface and from within.

The facial menu runs from the BABYGLOW Essential Facial at $195, a 1 hour 15 minute deep cleanse with extractions, high-frequency and red light therapy, up to the MODERNGLOW Brightening Facial at $345, which uses a chemical peel aimed at discoloration from inflammation, sun damage, scarring and melasma. The INNERGLOW Toning Facial, which the studio describes as its signature treatment, uses microcurrent to stimulate facial muscles and tissue. The AFTERGLOW Tightening Facial, which the studio calls its most popular, uses cold atmospheric plasma delivered through jet plasma. The HYDRAGLOW Infusion Facial uses nano tips to deliver peptides, vitamins and antioxidants, and the OXYGLOW Balancing Facial uses a hardening enzyme masque left on for 45 minutes.

Clients outside Los Angeles can book a Virtual Consultation for $100. It is a 30-minute one-on-one online session covering the client's routine, lifestyle and underlying factors affecting the skin. After booking, clients complete a short intake form and receive a personalized plan, an at-home routine and product recommendations.

The studio is open Monday and Friday from 11 am to 4 pm, Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday from 11 am to 8 pm, and closed on Sundays. Retail offerings include cleansers, masks, exfoliants, toners, serums, retinol, moisturizers, oils, SPF and eye and lip products, along with eGift cards on the website.
