Michael Vincent Academy

Michael Vincent Academy opened in 2013 and operates alongside MVA Studios, a production studio with film and soundstage facilities that students can use in person. It is connected to the Michael Vincent brand, which was established in 2004. The school was founded by Michael Vincent and Tal B Vincent, and its stated mission is to prepare students for careers in the beauty industry through online and in-person training. Virtual or in-person tours are available and must be confirmed by the office.

Online courses are self-paced with no fixed schedule, so students can finish one in about a week or spread it out over longer. Students work through pre-recorded instruction with teacher assistance. Many assignments ask students to complete a look or hairstyle, photograph it on a phone or digital camera, and submit the images. Assignments are reviewed and graded, and students receive private feedback. Each course ends with a multiple choice exam and a practical exam, and instructors review the practical portion within one week. Most courses include a kit of tools and products, and students who complete an applicable course receive a custom Michael Vincent Academy Pro brush set.

In-person Elite courses focus on building a professional portfolio. Elite registration requires qualification, assessed by a career counselor.

Payment options include in-house plans that skip a credit check and third-party financing. The academy does not participate in FAFSA or any federally funded aid programs. Students who finish a course's requirements receive an MVA Certificate of Completion, which the academy calls internationally recognized. The certificate is not a university degree, a government licence, or a government-issued professional credential, and it does not promise a job. Some beauty brands may accept completion as grounds for professional discounts, though each brand sets its own rules. According to the academy, graduates can typically save an average of 20 to 40 percent off retail prices.
