Blush Beauty Bar Salon opened in 2008 and is owned by Melissa Robinson, who also founded the Heart 4 U Foundation. The salon serves women who want polished styling, women of color looking for styles suited to their hair, and women dealing with hair loss.

Hair loss care begins with a private, one-on-one consultation that includes a scalp analysis. From there, the salon sets a treatment plan of 2, 4, 6 or 12 months, with weekly or bi-weekly sessions that can include laser treatments, micro needling and growth factors. Pricing depends on the extent and number of treatments, so clients are asked to book a consultation for a quote. Each client also takes home a kit of products, topical treatments and DHT-blocker vitamins. For people with permanent hair loss, the salon makes custom medical wigs, usually within one to two weeks of taking measurements. The salon works with patients, doctors, insurance companies and hair loss organizations on wig prosthesis. The Heart 4 U Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3), helps fund treatments and wig prosthesis through an application process. Counseling is also offered for depression and anxiety related to hair loss.

The salon sells the Blush Platinum Star line of luxury Indian hair extensions and wigs, both in the salon and online. According to the salon, the extensions are sourced from temple hair in South India, are 100% raw, and are guaranteed to last over two years. Custom wig clients can add color, cuts and styling, or book an install only.

Booking comes with a few house rules. Clients need to give 24 hours notice to cancel, and a $50 non-refundable deposit secures an appointment and is applied to the total at checkout. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late pay a $25 late fee before service. Appointments outside normal hours carry a $100 non-refundable booking fee, and squeeze-ins carry a $75 fee paid with the deposit. Hair needing color or customization for frontals, closures, wigs or bundles should be dropped off at least 5 days ahead. Chemical services require a signed service agreement after a hair evaluation, and past chemical treatments, allergies and medical conditions should be disclosed within 30 days.

Children are allowed only when they are being serviced, and personal devices require headphones.

Styling is open to any hair texture and ethnicity, from high-glamour and editorial looks to bridal work, and hair loss care starts with a scalp analysis before any plan is set.
