Melessa Denee opened the Middletown salon in the 1990s, and she still owns and styles there. A second salon, Melessa's Weave Palace, opened in Baltimore, Maryland in 2009, and the Baltimore location is now at 1020 S Charles Street. The menu is broad, running from braids and color to weaving, wigs, makeup and natural hair care.

Clients can call or book an appointment, and free estimates are offered. Weave installations are done in a private setting, and in-home or business-location visits can be arranged on request. The salon is open every day of the week from 9:00am to 9:00pm.

Hair sold at the salon is 100% virgin hair from Indian, Brazilian, Persian, Malaysian, Peruvian and Russian sources, sold at wholesale and retail. It comes in lengths from 10 to 36 inches, in wavy, curly and straight textures, and can be dyed to custom colors. Custom wigs are made from this virgin hair and must be uncolored, undamaged and thick enough for the wig ordered. Clients can have a wig colored and styled after it is made.
