McLaughlin Studios Skincare organizes its facial and skincare services into two tracks. Age Smart is aimed at brightness, firmness, fine lines and cell turnover, with barrier support. Acne Clarifying is built around clearing skin and keeping it balanced over the long term. Licensed esthetician Beth leads the work.

Appointments are required; walk-ins are not taken. Dermaplaning is an optional add-on that removes surface oil and dead skin and thins out fine facial vellus hair.

Acne facials and peels start with a consultation, which can be booked the same day before the service or completed earlier in person, by video or by email. Peel services require 30 days of vitamin A use, such as retinol or tretinoin, beforehand, and a melanin suppressant for clients with Fitzpatrick skin types 3 and higher. Extractions are done with fingers and an extractor tool, and clients may ask for a fully manual approach.

Cancellations and rescheduling need at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations within 48 hours, or missed appointments without notice, are charged 50% of the scheduled service fee, for all clients. Arrivals more than 10 minutes late may have the service shortened or be rescheduled.

The studio is between the Piedmont Avenue and Grand Lake neighborhoods, just off Oakland Avenue near the I-580 exit. Two client parking spaces are available, in the row in front of the building and in the upper lot. There is a waiting area near the door, and restrooms are on the first and second floors. Clients may bring one guest, service animals are welcome, other pets are not permitted at appointments, and children under 12 are asked to stay home.

Acne care follows the Dr. James Fulton Method, which the salon says has a 95% success rate, and facials are tailored to each client's skin according to the salon.
