About

MB Skin Spa is set on Highland Avenue in Manhattan Beach and works by appointment only. Before booking, guests can have a free consultation by phone or in person with a licensed esthetician, who helps match them to a treatment. The spa also sells gift cards.

The facial menu starts with HydraFacial options: a 30-minute version with three steps, and a 60-minute version that adds extended extractions, massage and a masque. The Luxe HydraFacial with Booster adds a booster and an LED light treatment, which the spa values at $50. The spa calls the HydraFacial one of its most booked treatments. The 60-minute Glass Skin Facial combines dermaplaning, exfoliation, a custom masque, a neck, shoulder, arm and hand massage, and red light therapy, and the spa describes it as its most booked treatment. Other facials include the Glacial Cryo Facial, which uses controlled cooling with a level 1 peel, LightStim LED and a peptide and antioxidant moisturizer; the relaxation-focused Love Your Skin Facial; a Men's Facial; and a Teen Facial designed for younger skin.

Dermaplaning is offered as a minimally invasive exfoliating procedure that also removes dirt and vellus hair. The spa states that it does not make hair grow back thicker or darker. The Perfect Derma Peel is a medical grade peel containing TCA, kojic acid, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, vitamin C and glutathione. Clients can expect warmth on the day of treatment, followed by tightening and peeling over a few days, and the spa describes the peel as painless. Aftercare includes limiting sun exposure, wearing zinc sunscreen and a hat outdoors, and avoiding hot yoga and saunas during peeling. The spa says the peel shows results within one week and reduces pigmentation, scarring and fine lines.

Brow services include a tint at $26, a wax at $34, tweezing at $37, and a combined wax and tint at $56. Lash services include a tint at $37, a lift at $65, a lift with tint at $100, and extensions starting at $95. Sugaring and waxing are offered for detailed hair removal, with a specialty in the Brazilian bikini. Facials are given on a heated Tempur-Pedic bed with soft linens, low lighting and calming essential oils. Skin care lines include IS Clinical, Image, Circadia, Leahlani and Amarte, and the spa says all products and equipment are professional-grade.

Treatments are chosen with a licensed esthetician, and the spa uses products and equipment it describes as professional-grade.

The space was refreshed in cream, taupe, gold and green tones with live plants and a boho chic style.
