Mayasthetix Wax Studio was started by its founder, Ileana Gutierrez, and operates from a suite at 1685 S Colorado Blvd. in Denver. The studio is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and is closed Monday, Thursday and Sunday.

About

The menu is organized into body waxing, face waxing, brow and lash services, and a set of skin add-ons. Full-body options such as full legs, full arms, a full back and a full stomach are listed alongside smaller single-area services, and several are bundled into packages.

Brows are a notable part of the menu. The Delux Eyebrow combines a brow lamination, tint and wax in one visit, and The Signature Brow pairs a wax with a tint. Eyebrow tint on its own includes brow mapping and is listed as lasting up to six weeks. Lamination with a wax lasts six to eight weeks. The studio also offers Korean lash lifts, with or without a tint, which are listed as lasting six to eight weeks.

To prepare for a wax, clients are asked to have roughly three to four weeks of hair growth, with hair about the length of a grain of rice, and to exfoliate and moisturize the skin one to two days before the appointment. Deposits of $15 to $45 are required for many services when booking. Cancellations made less than 24 hours ahead are charged 50 percent of the total service amount, and appointments are treated as cancelled eight minutes after the scheduled time with the same 50 percent charge. Gift cards are sold in set amounts or a custom amount and are final once purchased. Spanish-speaking service is available.
