New guests begin with a detailed consultation in which stylists consider face shape, skin tone, eyes and lifestyle before choosing color and cuts. Color is the core of the work, and owner Angela Cimino has more than 20 years behind the chair with a focus on blondes, brunettes and red hair.

Visits here are low-key and practical: towels are supplied, and coffee and other drinks are on offer. Guests who aren't sure which stylist to book can take the matchmaking quiz or call or text the salon to be matched with one. Each stylist's calendar is bookable online. Hours are Tuesday from 9:30am to 2:30pm, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 6pm, and Friday and Saturday from 10am to 2:30pm; the salon is closed Sundays and Mondays. Street parking on Main Street is free and right out front, there is lot parking behind the building, and downtown Old Saybrook's shops and the Saybrook Junction train station are a walk away.

Color services include custom blonding, bombshell and face-frame highlights, hand-painted balayage placed to grow out softly over four to six months, gloss services, single-process refreshes between visits, and grey coverage and blending. New color guests book an in-salon Color Consultation before any color is mixed, and that fee is applied to the first color service. Balayage is not booked without seeing the hair in person first, and the salon offers a complimentary adjustment within seven days when appropriate.

Sewn-in weft extensions are fitted without glue, heat or keratin bonds and begin with a required 30-minute consultation. Existing extension guests book move-up appointments every six to eight weeks. Hair treatments include a formaldehyde-free keratin smoothing treatment, K-18 repair as a quick add-on, and custom in-salon treatments. The salon states its treatments are sulfate-friendly and will not strip color, and says treatments cannot repair split ends, so a trim is recommended when that is the honest answer.
