Matick Method is a lash studio in Indianapolis, operating under the names Lashes by Matick and Matick Method. Its owner, Maria Matick, is a licensed cosmetologist and a lash artist and national educator with EBL Lashes. She began specializing in eyelash extensions in May 2016.
The studio offers three extension styles as full sets: classic, hybrid and Russian Volume. Classic adds length for a natural look, hybrid adds a defined lash line, and Russian Volume uses hand-made fans, ranging from natural to dramatic, for maximum fullness. Full sets are priced at $200, $250 and $300 respectively.
Refills are recommended every two to four weeks to replace lashes that shed in the natural growth cycle. Fills are priced by the number of weeks since the last appointment: $75 at two weeks, $95 at three weeks and $120 at four weeks. A fill takes about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. It removes grown-out extensions, applies new ones at the base of natural lashes, and uses an under-eye gel pad to protect the lower lashes. Extensions can last up to four to six weeks with good care, though natural growth, lifestyle and aftercare all affect how long they stay on. Removal uses an oil-based remover made for extensions and takes about five minutes. The studio advises against removing extensions at home and is not responsible for damage from at-home removal.
The studio also offers education. The Classic and Hybrid Eyelash Extensions Workshop and the Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions Workshop each cost $1,200 in total. The business describes its workshop content as more advanced than typical lash courses. Classes are capped at five students and are open to licensed cosmetology or esthetics professionals and to beauty school students, who must show proof of licensing or a student ID. A $500 deposit secures a place, with the $700 balance due seven days before the course. Deposits and courses are non-refundable. The workshop began in 2017 as an eyelash extension apprenticeship. A separate Ombre Lash Map guide, priced at $9.99, covers creating an ombre lash line through layering.
Access is limited. The studio keeps a waitlist with limited openings, and referrals from existing clients are given priority. According to the site, the salon serves a varied, high-profile clientele, including visitors who travel from other parts of the country.
The business says it uses ongoing research and close knowledge of products to choose what goes into clients' extensions, and that it mentors and supports other lash artists in the industry. Its stated mission is to uphold a high standard of excellence in the lash extension field, with the motto beauty with integrity and proper education.
