Martine Langsam started working as a licensed cosmetologist in 1986 and later owned salons in San Rafael and San Anselmo before turning her full attention to trichology. The clinic treats scalp problems and hair issues, including hair loss, psoriasis, alopecia, scalp scaling and seborrheic dermatitis, and looks at scalp and hair health with a holistic view.

A first visit is a full trichological consultation that costs $355, with a $95 deposit taken at booking and applied to the fee on the day. The exam covers the hair and scalp, along with a review of medical history, medications, lifestyle, diet, stress and any existing test results, and magnification from 60X to 700X is used when needed. Follow-up visits at $175 are recommended every three to four months during a hair regrowth program and require a prior initial consultation and recent blood test results. Virtual follow-ups at $90 per half hour are offered after an in-person initial visit.

Testing is a large part of the clinic's work. Options include a hair tissue mineral analysis with food and supplement recommendations, polarized microscopy of hair taken from the crown, a genetic alopecia test that the clinic says supports licensed healthcare professionals in personalizing treatment, and a mail-in hair, skin and nail follicle report. Hair health and beauty tests are also available, with samples taken at the clinic and sent to a UK lab.

The clinic sells supplements and hair and scalp products, some on site and some through partner websites, and recommends products to clients as part of a plan. The site also lists associated professionals who offer wigs and toppers, nutrition coaching, permanent makeup, microneedling and exosome hair treatments. These are separate practitioners and are not services performed by the clinic itself.
