Martine Langsam

Martine Langsam owns the business and works as a certified trichologist focused on hair loss and scalp conditions. She began working as a licensed cosmetologist in 1986 and has about 12 years of experience as a certified trichologist. Earlier in her career she owned Harlequin Hair Designs in San Rafael and San Anselmo from 1986 to 1998, and Renaissance House of Beauty in San Rafael from 1998 to 2012. She also worked as an on-location hair stylist and makeup artist for television, video and weddings from 1990 to 2001, and was a platform artist and educator for Paul Brown Hawaii International from 1989 to 1996.

Her trichology training includes certification as a Certified Trichologist through the International Association of Trichology in 2014 and a Master Trichology Class certification from the same association in 2017. She is also a certified instructor for the Hair Practitioners Certification Course, a member of the World Trichology Society since 2017 and of the Association of Professional Trichologists since 2024, and a technician in polarized light microscopy and hair analysis from the Italian Academy of Hair Microscopy in 2023. She completed a post-graduate trichologist internship in Puerto Rico in 2021, holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Health and a certificate in nutritional coaching from Kingdom College of Natural Health, both from 2023, and has color and hair system certifications from Organic Salon Systems and others.

Her approach is to recognize signs and symptoms of hair and scalp disorders rather than diagnose them. Clients describe a scalp exam with imaging, followed by a recommended routine of products and non-invasive treatments. She has been quoted in Byrdie, The Washington Post and Vitalproteins.com, and was featured in Marin Living Magazine's Groundbreaking Women issue in May 2023.
