Marcel Ash Hair Extensions

Marcel Ash Hair Extensions works out of a private studio inside Sola Salons in Park Ridge, Illinois. It is open by appointment, Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 7pm and Saturday from 10am to 5pm. Clients can reach the studio by phone at (773) 817-1910.

The studio is run by its owner, Marcel Ash, who started experimenting with hair color at fourteen and did a first sew-in extension at fifteen. After cosmetology school, Marcel worked full time at a hair extension boutique and built skills across the extension methods there. Marcel started the studio after the Covid pandemic and now teaches and mentors new stylists.

Every extension client begins with a consultation, which costs $50 and can last up to an hour. In person, the consultation looks at hair density, texture and the client's lifestyle, and it is required so that pricing is accurate. The $50 is applied toward the service if the client books an install, and installs are scheduled for a separate day after the consultation.

Extensions are made with 100% Remy hair from brands the studio describes as reputable and ethical. Most brands take one to three business days to deliver hair, so timing is planned around that. Beyond extensions, the studio offers color without bleach and color correction for clients who want to fix color they already have.

Extensions are not right for everyone, so the studio will suggest other solutions when they are not a good fit for a client's hair.

Each extension plan is built around the client's hair and lifestyle, starting with an in-person consultation, with education and the health of the hair as priorities.
