Mane Hair & Co opened in June 2020 on India Hook Road in Rock Hill. The salon is best known for lived-in color, blonding, and hair extensions, and it offers haircuts, updos, shampoo and blowouts, and a range of add-on services.

About

The team works across designer levels, from Emerging and Advanced through Senior, Master, and Creative, and base prices for many services change with the level. The salon describes itself as home to the most passionate hair stylists in the area, and its focus is on techniques and products meant to keep hair in good condition.

Extension clients should know a few things. Hand tied weft extensions are sewn onto a track of silicone beads and need no remover. Extensions can be darkened but not lightened, darkening more than two shades is not recommended, and bleaching is not allowed. Hair extension pricing is set at an in-salon consultation, and the salon does not guarantee specific results from extensions or the quality of extension hair. Extension care includes moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, avoiding protein-based products, and brushing morning and night.

Visit details: clients are asked to arrive 10 minutes early and to keep cell phones put away during service. Late arrivals receive the remaining appointment time and are charged the full service price, and service may be refused at 15 minutes late. Cancellations need at least 24 hours notice or a $25 fee goes on the card on file, and no-shows are charged the full cost of the service in order to rebook. Children under 10 are only allowed in the salon while receiving a service, and currently only children of existing clients are accepted. Products cannot be returned once they leave the salon, and gift cards are not transferable or redeemable for cash. The salon does not replace hair that has been colored or toned, including with purple or toning shampoo.
