Maha Rose Manhattan

Maha Rose describes itself as a wellness business offering healing sessions, classes, trainings, retreats and an online shop. The Brooklyn studio on Columbia Street is open Tuesday through Friday from 3 to 8pm, Saturday from noon to 6pm and Sunday from 3 to 8pm, with additional times by appointment and for listed workshops. A Manhattan pop-up is listed at the MA Center on West 13th Street.

The session menu is broad, covering Reiki, acupuncture, infrared sauna, breathwork, past life regression, Vedic astrology, massage, hypnosis, sound healing, Akashic records, tarot, energy healing readings and distance sessions.

Brooklyn also runs regular group offerings. Community Reiki is a weekly class starting at $35 that opens with meditation and includes individual Reiki and sound healing in a group setting. Movement Medicine is a 60-minute class at $25 that combines mat Pilates, bodyweight strength, mobility and joint work, breathwork and somatics. Tarot Tuesday is a 120-minute weekly drop-in of mini-readings priced at $60.

Booking and cancellation terms are set out for each type of service. One-on-one sessions booked less than 24 hours ahead need an email or phone call, and the studio will try to accommodate them. Private session cancellations requested 24 hours in advance receive account credit or a refund minus a 10% service fee, while distance sessions are non-refundable. Workshop and class refunds or credit, less 10%, require a request 72 hours ahead, and retreat deposits are non-refundable.

Maha Rose South is in Mazunte on the Oaxacan coast of Mexico, at El Triángulo. The land has been used by the Maha Rose community since 2014, and the first phase opened in February 2023. Retreats there offer private and shared room options. The El Triángulo project also includes a recording studio and a creative arts center for children, developed with Quinn Luke and Lisa Levine.

Beyond sessions, the business offers corporate wellness, The Queen's Table programs, trainings in Reiki Levels 1 and 2, Sound School Level One, Craniosacral Therapy Levels 1 and 2 and Breathwork Healer Training Level 1, and space rental. Need-based scholarships for workshops and retreats are available by emailing the studio. Gift cards come in $50, $100, $200 and $500 amounts, can be used for workshops, private sessions, retail and retreats, and expire five years after purchase. A portion of monthly earnings goes to Embracing the World.

Maha Rose says its work honors body, mind and spirit, bringing together time-honored practices and intuitive wisdom. It draws on a variety of traditions and lineages and aims to serve people of all backgrounds, abilities, financial means and spiritual traditions.

A TimeOut NY review quoted on the site calls the Brooklyn location an urban oasis.
