Madame Jay Salon is located on East Sunrise Highway in Freeport, New York, and its menu is built around protective and textured styles. Braids and locs make up much of the list, from feed-in and knotless box braids to sisterlocs, instant locs, soft locs and loc retwists, with sizes and lengths priced separately. Sew-ins, quick weaves, frontal and closure installs, and ponytails are also offered alongside color, cuts and relaxers.

The salon describes itself as a certified cranial prosthesis specialist and offers medical wigs for clients experiencing hair loss from medical conditions. Medical wig consultations cover wig types, cap construction, color matching and care, and the salon says it works directly with insurance companies on billing and reimbursement for medical wigs. Custom wigs, full lace or frontal wig installs and wig maintenance are also listed.

Booking has a few set rules. A non-refundable deposit secures each appointment and goes toward the total, with deposits listed per service from $10 to $100. Appointments need to be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours ahead, same-day cancellations forfeit the deposit, and guests are not permitted during appointments. A grace period of 10 to 15 minutes applies, and later arrivals may be shortened, charged or canceled. Some styles list hair as not provided, so clients bring their own hair for those.

Buy Now, Pay Later is available for in-person bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval needed before the appointment. A last-minute squeeze-in option adds $50 to the requested service. Custom wig color is drop-off only, and clients should allow two weeks for pickup. Wigs should be dropped off a week before the appointment to avoid a $35 same-day customization fee.

The salon is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 AM to 7 PM, Friday from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM. It is closed Monday, Wednesday and Sunday.
