Mad About Hair

Mad About Hair is a hair salon at 500 Ashford Avenue in Ardsley, New York. Services are by appointment only, and clients can park in the dedicated lot behind the building. The salon is open Wednesday from 10:30 AM to 8 PM, Thursday from 11 AM to 8 PM, Friday from 10:30 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and is closed Sunday through Tuesday.

The salon was founded by Madison K., its owner, who is a Certified Redken Colorist & Designer and a National Redken Educator. She started shampooing in a salon at age 12, went to hair school at 15, and apprenticed with a Redken artist during those years. After school she moved to New York City, where she interned at Louis Licari on Park Avenue.

Her New York career included designing at John Allan's, a membership-only men's salon with locations at Saks, in TriBeCa, and in Midtown. She later returned to women's hair coloring and became a Redken artist and educator in 2017. She travels to teach other hairstylists.

The salon has a private suite so that each appointment can be one-on-one. Cancellations should be made at least 48 hours in advance, and clients who cancel or no-show often will be asked for a deposit on future bookings.
