About

Lux Laser Lab is based on Franklin Street in Melrose and offers hair removal and facial treatments. The studio describes its mission as delivering treatments that are safe, comfortable and effective.

Laser and IPL hair removal are grouped together on the menu. The studio explains that laser hair removal usually takes a series of sessions to reach lasting reduction, and that electrolysis often needs several sessions depending on the size of the area. Electrolysis can also be used after laser treatment to address lighter hairs the laser missed. Laser hand pieces have a cooling system, and clients can apply a topical numbing cream before an appointment if they wish. The studio notes that redness and mild swelling can follow laser treatment and may last from 15 minutes to three or four days.

The Preime Dermafacial combines cleansing, exfoliation, oxygenated microdermabrasion, micro-current, ultrasound and collagen stimulation. Hydrafacial treatments are also offered. The studio says its skin care aims to support a healthy, hydrated skin barrier and to teach clients how to protect their skin. Booking policies include a $100 charge for late cancellations or no-shows on online bookings, and a $100 card hold when scheduling existing appointments, credited toward the service. The studio notes that personal emergencies are considered and penalties may not apply. Parking is ample and the studio is open Monday through Saturday.

The studio says its treatments are meant to be safe, comfortable and effective, with a focus on skin hydration and client education about protecting skin.
