Luna is a small, private hair design studio in San Rafael. It is open Tuesday through Friday, from 11 to 6, and clients book by calling the studio. Annya White, the owner, is also the stylist who works with every client.

Before opening the studio, Annya owned and ran Luna Salon in Sausalito for several years. She opened the studio to offer a more intimate, personalized experience than the larger salon.

A haircut appointment starts with a personal consultation and includes organic shampoo and conditioner, a neck massage and a blow dry. Color services cover everything from individual foils and glosses to full head highlights and permanent tint, with several combinations that pair color with a cut. Clients can also book a blow dry lesson, where they learn to recreate salon-finish styling at home using their own tools and products.

The studio aims to care for hair and the environment together. It uses green eco solutions and water-wise techniques to reduce its carbon footprint, and has long used organic and low-waste products for hair care and maintenance. The studio says it uses the gentlest color available that still gives strong results.
