The founder, Caitlin Sixbey, came to the work through dermatology and spent over a decade in Scottsdale's med spa industry before opening Lumera.

The menu is grouped into skin rejuvenation, facial and peel services, lasers and resurfacing, laser treatments by body area, add-ons, and consultations. Laser and energy options include Sciton BBL HEROic, MOXI, SkinTyte, photofacial, acne treatment and laser hair removal, with some treatments combined in a single session. Injectables are also offered, including botox and Xeomin, lip filler, full face filler and body contouring fillers.

A new client starts with a consultation, and existing clients and follow-up visits are booked separately. New patients can complete forms online before they arrive. A HydraFacial takes about 30 to 45 minutes with no downtime. A custom facial runs six to seven steps and begins with a skin analysis under a magnifying lamp, followed by exfoliation, optional steam, extractions, massage, a custom mask and sunscreen. Microneedling with the SkinPen device takes 30 to 60 minutes, and the skin is typically red for one to three days, similar to a mild sunburn. Results build gradually over several weeks and can last six to 12 months with maintenance.

Laser hair removal uses Sciton Forever Bare BBL technology on facial and body areas, including underarms, bikini, legs, chest and back. Four to six sessions are typically recommended, and a significant reduction is often visible after three to four. Clients are asked to avoid excessive sun, tanning and self-tanners for at least two weeks beforehand, and to avoid direct sun and tanning before and after Sciton BBL sessions. Chemical peel strength can be adjusted, and downtime ranges from minimal flaking to about seven days of visible peeling.

Membership and financing options include The Lumera Skin Society, monthly sales, Cherry payment plans, Cherry Financing with 0% APR or deferred interest promotions for qualifying clients, and the CareCredit healthcare card. Cards and cash are accepted. A valid card must be on file to reserve an appointment. Cancellations or changes made with less than 48 hours notice may incur a fee of 15% of the treatment cost, and so may no-shows. Cosmetic and medical services are non-refundable, prepaid packages must be used within 12 months and are non-transferable, and unopened retail products may be exchanged within 14 days.
