It became a registered non-profit in 2017 and now offers complimentary services to people facing many kinds of cancer. The organization was founded by Anamaria Rico, known as Snooky, a cosmetologist and business owner.

The LYTI room is a private, intimate space inside Rico's on 3rd, The Salon, in Chula Vista. The home page lists the Norman Park Senior Center at 270 F Street as the address. Services are for women during and after treatment, and include head shaving, haircuts cut as short or as long as the client wants, and wig fitting and styling from an assortment of wigs and styles. Clients can also choose a scarf and learn how to tie it, and receive guidance on scalp care and products that may support scalp health. Natural, uncolored hair donations are accepted to help children with cancer-related hair loss.

A women's support group meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 pm, except holidays, and is offered in English and Spanish. A women's cancer group meets twice a month. Community resource sessions bring guest speakers from oncology, social services and other fields. Additional offerings include wig kits, beauty resources, eyebrow make-up tutorials, make-up and accessory giveaways, and information and referrals.

All services are free of charge. Donations are accepted as one-time, monthly or yearly gifts, with suggested amounts starting at $25, and the organization states that every dollar goes directly to serving clients. LYTI has served people from cities across Southern California and welcomes volunteers with a range of skills. Volunteer sign-up is available on the website, and the phone number is 619-779-7734.

The salon's work is centered on helping women who are living with a cancer diagnosis, offering them support delivered with kindness, understanding and attentive care.

The LYTI room is private and intimate, set inside a working salon.
