About

Love YAH Locs is a loc salon in Suite G on Williamsburg Road in Henrico, operated by Love YAH Locs, LLC. The work centers on locked hair at every stage, from establishing new locs to repairing, maintaining, and styling locs that are already in place.

Booking happens online, ahead of time. For clients establishing locs, test locs are done during that consultation. Clients receive an automated confirmation, plus a note from their stylist one to three days before the visit that they need to confirm.

The Locs group covers starter locs and interlocs, microloc establishment (small, delicate locs with a light, soft feel), loc removal that combs out locked hair into loose strands without cutting, and loc re-attachment for a loc that has come fully detached. The Maintenance group includes loc SOS for severely tangled locs, which are detoxified, detangled, and sectioned, plus retwist and grid clean-up for matted locs. Deep cleansing detox and deep moisture treatments address build-up, dryness, and brittleness. For microlocs, the salon recommends retightening or retying every four to six weeks, depending on hair type, loc size, and growth rate.

The Styles group includes closed-end and open-end barrel twists, loc knots that add bulk and texture to established locs, rod sets for bouncy curls, rope twists as a protective style, updos, and two-strand twists on loose natural hair.

Hours are Sunday from 9 am to 3 pm and Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 5 pm. The salon is closed Friday and Saturday. Service times are estimates. For establishing locs, clients arrive with clean hair in its natural state, free of weaves, wigs, or braids. Previous styling must be removed before a service unless a style take-down is booked. Seating is limited, so extra guests are not allowed, and parents stay with young children during their appointment. Smoking, vaping, and pets (other than service animals) are not allowed inside. Clients with symptoms such as fever or coughing are asked to reschedule. Clients more than 15 minutes late should contact their stylist, as the appointment may be cancelled. Concerns about a service need to be raised within 12 hours, after which refunds and redos are not offered. Accepted payments include cash, Venmo, Cash App, Square credit or debit, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and AfterPay. Gift cards are sold online.

Care centers on keeping locs healthy and strong, with consultations and test locs used to plan each service.
