Love Sugaring Academy

Love Sugaring Academy was founded by Mailette, an esthetician since 2002 who has made sugaring a central part of her career and has owned several sugaring hair removal and skin care businesses. The academy is described as a 20-year project, and its stated mission is to create an experience that shapes the mind, body and soul.

The academy's core offering is sugaring training. The Foundational Sugaring Certification is a six-hour class covering sugaring on arms, underarms, legs and face, with instruction in spreading, molding, flicking and finger twirl techniques, plus a demonstration of a Brazilian sugaring service. Students who finish it also get membership in the Sugaring Success Program. The Advanced Brazilian Sugaring Certification is a four-hour class for students who have already mastered the foundational techniques, and each student performs one or two Brazilian services under instruction. Both classes are taught as group sessions or private one-on-one sessions, and the instructor travels to students in Connecticut, Louisiana and Tennessee as well as Cincinnati. Classes are limited to licensed cosmetologists and estheticians, and enrollment is arranged by email.

Beyond the classroom, the academy offers skin care services at its Cincinnati location, presented as a holistic approach. Sugaring itself is made from sugar, water and lemon juice and contains no chemicals. Certified students can buy Sweet & True sugaring paste and related support products at wholesale prices. The academy also sells a small range of skin care products online, shipped directly from vendors within the continental US.

The business side of the academy includes human design readings, which can focus on personal insight, business, parenting or relationships, and business coaching for entrepreneurs in any industry. Personal development courses are also in the works: SPARK and a course on closing the gap between desires and beliefs (GAP) are both on waitlists ahead of relaunch or launch, and The Love Magic Experience is a four-month mastermind for beauty industry entrepreneurs that takes applications.

Sugaring is presented as a chemical-free method, and skin care is offered as a holistic practice. Business coaching is described as very unconventional.
