The studio works only with traditional locs. It does not offer sister locks, micro locks or lock extensions, so the work centers on starting, retwisting, styling and maintaining traditional locs.

New clients book a consultation separately from any service, and a consultation cannot fall on the same day as an appointment. It runs 35 minutes, costs $21 and requires a $20 deposit. The visit covers an analysis of the locs, hair, scalp and overall look, followed by a series of questions. The studio is not suited to clients with thinning or balding, missing locs, or scalp conditions a dermatologist has not seen. Eczema, seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis need to be seen and treated by a dermatologist first.

Service prices run from $20 for trims, petals and deep conditioning up to $295 for mid-back starter locs. Ear-length and mid-back starter locs need at least 4 inches of hair, and shoulder-length starter locs require 100% natural hair. Portfolio work includes loc styles, petal buns, loc bobs, barrel styles, plaits and retwists.

The studio is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday with varying hours, and Tuesday and Friday until 6:30 PM; it is closed on weekends. Deposits are non-refundable. Appointments cancelled at least 24 hours ahead can be rescheduled once by the end of that day, while later cancellations require the remaining balance and a new deposit to rebook. No-shows are charged the full service fee and same-day cancellations 50%. Clients have a 15-minute grace period, and a late appointment past that point is discounted. Extra guests are not allowed, and children may attend only with advance notice.
