LOCKED Salon is located in Unit 11 at 40 Eastern Ave in Malden and works mainly with locs and natural hair. Clients book through Booksy, since the salon does not take walk-ins. Later months open for booking on the 15th of each month. The salon is open Tuesday through Thursday 9 AM to 5 PM, Friday 9 AM to 6 PM and Saturday 9 AM to 8 PM, and is closed Sundays and Mondays. There is parking on site, cards are accepted, and the space is child-friendly.

About

Loc retwists are offered in basic and long versions. A basic retwist includes shampoo, the retwist and a basic style, along with free twists, barrels or braids, one to three loc repairs, and jewelry for medium to large locs or half-head locs. The long version is meant for extra small or small locs, high-density sets of 100 or more locs, locs at waist length or longer, or locs that need more time.

Beyond maintenance, the salon offers starter locs that begin with a full consultation and scalp and hair preparation, instant locs, crochet retwists over the roots, and extended retwists that add synthetic hair for length. Interlock retwists are also available. People who are unsure which style of locs suits them can book a free 30-minute consultation. Loc take downs require a consultation first, and a separate take down consultation is available.

Every service includes shampoo and prep. A non-refundable deposit is due at booking and counts toward the full price. Full payment may be requested for late cancellations, no-shows or late arrivals beyond the 15-minute grace period, and a $20 late fee applies after 10 minutes late. Birthday discounts apply to basic and long retwists, braids, twists, and wash and go. Gift cards and service packages are offered, and the salon sells an e-book on loc maintenance aimed at stylists and salon owners.
