Visits are by appointment only, with hours Sunday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm. New and transfer clients must have a consultation scheduled by staff before booking services. Consultations run Tuesday to Friday from 9am to 4pm in 30-minute slots booked through the site, and a 30-minute consultation is listed to start at $35 on the home page. Clients should arrive with loose hair that was washed no more than 48 hours earlier and is free of products, braids, cornrows and blow-drying. Consultation fees can be applied to a recommended service once it is scheduled and completed, and quoted prices hold for 30 days unless agreed otherwise. Anyone not established by the salon counts as a transfer client and needs a consultation before a retightening or retwist.

Sisterlock and brotherlock establishments are offered, along with interlock and traditional starter locs. Starter locs and sisterlock establishments need hair at least 5 inches long. A non-refundable deposit holds establishment and starter loc appointments. Hair should be clean, product free, shampooed, dried and detangled beforehand. A complete interlock establishment can take 1 to 2 days and a complete sisterlock or brotherlock establishment 2 to 3 days, depending on hair condition, length, density and hours per day. Clients may bring reading materials, devices, pillows, blankets and snacks. Retightening is typically recommended every 4 to 6 weeks. Prices are listed by service and length, with sisterlock establishments rising from $1,500 for up to 6 inches to $2,500 for 12 inches and up, and retightening and retwists listed as flat rates with overage billed by the quarter hour. Pricing may vary with hair length and time between visits.

The salon also teaches. It offers an interlock class that covers starting and maintaining interlocks, with a section for people growing an interlock practice, a simple loc styling class that includes curling with rollers, an Interlock Maintenance Masterclass, and tutorials on caring for locs. A downloadable e-book is available. Hair products are sold through an online shop with standard and expedited shipping, and orders can be picked up locally at the salon within 7 days. Unused, unopened products in original packaging can be returned within 7 days, while sale items are final sale.

Policies cover the practical side of booking. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice carry a $50 fee, and a $25 late fee applies after a 10-minute grace period. Appointments are rescheduled or canceled after 30 minutes. No-shows are charged $75, and returning clients who have not been seen in 3 months or more pay a $60 fee.
