Lisa Nolan Hair Studio is run by Lisa Nolan from her home in Rochester. She recently became a business owner, and the studio is in a newly renovated space that was once her garage.

Because the salon takes only two clients at a time, each visit gets focused attention. New clients can book Tuesday through Thursday between 9:30am and 2:00pm and need daytime availability. New guests fill out a New Guest Form before booking, and a New Client Consultation is included at no charge with the first appointment. Clients park in the driveway, where two spots at the end are kept for them. Hours are Tuesday to Thursday 9:30am to 2:30pm, Friday noon to 6pm, and Saturday 8am to 2pm. The studio is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

The menu covers foil highlights, babylights and foilyage in partial or full versions, with an optional glaze, along with root retouches and face-frame foils. Haircuts are priced the same for all genders and apply from age 13 up, with a separate lower price for kids 12 and under. Add-ons include a scalp-massage Olaplex treatment during the haircut, express conditioning, a shine treatment and a chlorine-removal treatment. The studio uses ammonia-free color by Keune, along with Aluram and Olaplex products. The salon describes its products as clean, green and worry-free.

Payment is by major credit card through Square or by cash; checks are not accepted. A no-show or a cancellation within 24 hours of the appointment is charged 50% of the service total. Clients who repeatedly miss or cancel may be asked to pay in advance before booking again, or the booking may be declined. A last-minute cancellation fee is waived if the client is contacted personally and rebooked within the same calendar week.

Products are natural and the color is ammonia-free, with the aim of keeping harsh chemicals to a minimum. Each appointment is shaped around what the client needs, whether that is something timely and precise or something more relaxing.
