The name is a Slovenian word meaning beautiful, and the salon's goal is to beautify skin. The salon describes itself as Austin's most authentic European spa, and its philosophy is that true beauty comes with healthy skin.

Every facial is formulated by Manja Hossa and uses noninvasive methods and European skin care techniques. Facials are suited to a wide range of concerns, including dullness, redness, oily or dry skin, and fine lines and wrinkles, and the salon serves clients of all walks of life and all ages.

The facial menu runs from the Teen Facial, designed for teenage acne and excess oil, through the New Client European Facial for first-time visitors, to the Manja Signature facial at $225, which pairs the Signature facial with an enzyme or AHA peel and one anti-aging treatment. Specialty boosts at $180 each come in 24K Gold, Collagen, Hyaluron, Oxygen and Peptides versions. Complimentary extractions of 10 to 15 minutes are offered between facials.

Electrolysis is priced by the minute: the first 15 minutes cost $45, and each minute after that adds $2, which brings a 30-minute visit to $75. To be treated, hair must measure at least a quarter inch or be long enough to grip with tweezers. Permanent removal requires multiple sessions. Treatments are performed with an Apilius Senior II Pro that uses MicroFlash technology.

The salon is open by appointment only: Tuesday to Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm and Friday to Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. Clients complete an intake form and disclose their skin history, products used, past treatments and current medications. A robe is provided in the treatment room, and some facials include an arm massage. Facials should be postponed for sunburn or skin inflammation, peels or resurfacing within the past 5 days, any illness, or less than 2 weeks after the last facial. Cancellations within 24 hours are charged 30 percent of the booked service. Tipping is appreciated but not required, and most clients tip around 15 to 20 percent. Cash, check, Visa and MasterCard are accepted, and unopened products may be returned within 30 days of purchase. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the lobby.

Facials use noninvasive methods and European skin care techniques, each starting with a skin analysis and ending with a customized after-care recommendation. The salon uses only Afrodita cosmetics, which it says meet European Union standards.
