Le Calme Salon describes itself as a full-service natural hair salon in Chicago. It was founded by stylist and educator Candrice Tinch, and it began as a single space where her styling services and her products were brought together in one central location.
The salon welcomes people of all ages, styles and backgrounds. Its services are grouped under braids, color, locs and twists, so clients can book by the kind of style they want, whether that is a braided protective style, a twist, loc care or a color or press service.
For locs, the salon offers faux locs as well as maintenance and repairs for existing locs. Spring twists round out the offerings.
The salon also sells its own choice of products: a hydrating oil for locs and textured or curly hair, a braiding styling gel meant to hold braids without flaking or stiffness, and an edge styling gel for smoothing edges and hairlines.
The salon is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturday from 10am to 2pm, and it is closed on Sundays.
