Lavish Skin Artistry is a private esthetics studio on Veterans Highway in Millersville, inside The Beauty Loft Suites. The studio is run around a private setting meant to help clients feel at ease. Waxing and sugaring are the core of the studio. Brazilian waxing and Brazilian sugaring are both offered, and the studio uses skin-friendly waxes and sugar paste. The studio says its waxing technique is meant to reduce discomfort. Clients should have hair at least a quarter-inch long and should avoid sun exposure and exfoliating products for 24 hours beforehand. Waxing can take place during the menstrual cycle, and clients are asked to wear a fresh tampon or menstrual cup. No numbing cream is provided; clients may take an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen about 30 minutes before the appointment.

The brow menu includes eyebrow lamination and tinting for a fuller look, and microshading for soft, natural-looking definition. Ombré powder brows are semi-permanent shading with a gradient finish, customized to each client's face and style. Appointments take about two to three hours, and surface healing takes 10 to 14 days, with full results in four to six weeks. The studio says results can last up to two to three years with minimal touch-ups. Clients must be 18 or older. Prep includes avoiding caffeine on the day, and avoiding alcohol, painkillers and blood thinners for 24 hours. Ombré brows are not offered to clients with certain conditions or recent treatments, such as pregnancy, chemotherapy, or recent Botox or fillers.

Booking requires a non-refundable 20% retainer. The retainer can be moved once to a new date if an appointment is canceled or rescheduled within 24 hours. Appointments should be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours ahead; late cancellations and no-shows carry a $25 fee and forfeit the deposit, and that fee must be paid before a new appointment can be booked. There is a 5-minute grace period for start times, and clients running late are asked to text. Payment is accepted in exact cash, Visa or Mastercard, and Tap to Pay. Tips are optional and can be sent by Zelle or Apple Pay, or given in exact cash.
