The studio started in a basement apartment, when Jaime began offering lashes to earn money while building a hair clientele. It was first called Lavender and Locks and was shortened to Lav and Lox as more team members joined. After four years in Utah, Jaime moved the business to Michigan and began growing it in Grand Rapids.

It was first called Lavender and Locks and was shortened to Lav and Lox as more team members joined. After four years in Utah, Jaime moved the business to Michigan and began growing it in Grand Rapids.
Lav and Lox works at an unhurried pace, with attention on careful technique, the health of natural lashes, and results that hold up over time. The studio describes itself as anything but an average lash studio and presents itself as a collaborative team that supports both staff and clients. Lash services require at least a 90-minute fill.
Visits take place in a space the studio describes as cozy, comfortable and welcoming, with a snack bar and a dirty soda bar. Facials range from custom treatments in 60 or 90-minute versions to dermaplaning, beard facials, skincare consultations and the Face Reality Acne Bootcamp. Waxing and sugaring cover body areas, including Brazilian, bikini, leg and body.
Beyond appointments, the studio hosts lash classes, lets outside groups run their own class or training on site, and offers mentoring for artists. Permanent jewelry is welded onto the wrist, ankle, neck or finger and fused closed at the studio after the chain is custom fit, and group bookings for jewelry parties are available.
Work is done at an unhurried pace, with emphasis on careful craftsmanship, the health of natural lashes, and lashes that last.
The studio describes its space as cozy, comfortable and welcoming.
