Lashbar was started in 2014 by its owner, a registered nurse, and it serves clients from across the Seacoast from its West End location. Skin care includes medical grade regimens tailored to each client, and the salon carries ZO skincare products along with luxury brand products and retail items. Waxing is available for the nostrils, chin, lip, eyebrows and full face, in soft or hard wax, and clients can name a preference to their esthetician.

Lash extension visits are booked online, and clients can also buy gift cards online. New clients get a consultation and lash assessment. Clients coming from another stylist are booked for a New Client Fill, which includes removing their previous extensions, and clients with no extensions are booked for a full set. Most clients come back every two to three weeks for a fill, which depends on aftercare and the natural lash growth cycle of about four to six weeks. A fill needs at least 20% of existing extensions remaining, and a full set is required if more than four weeks have passed since the last fill. Examples include a Classic Fill at $70 for clients two weeks from their previous fill, a Classic Extended Fill at $85 for clients three weeks out, and a Classic Full Set at $185. Lashbar accepts male clients for lash extensions, and current clients who leave a review receive 15% off their next service.

Clients are asked to avoid oil-based products on or near the lashes, to choose water-based and non-waterproof eye products, to skip clamp-style curlers on extensions, to rub or scrub the eyes as little as possible, and to keep direct water and steam away for 12 hours after the appointment. The salon recommends a particular oil-free makeup remover and a lash bath applied with a brush, and it states it cannot guarantee extension retention if the aftercare guide or non-lash-compatible eye makeup is not followed. Sensitivity tests are offered before a chemical peel, lash extension adhesive, lash lift adhesive or tint, and clients wait 48 hours for results before a service. Staff receive in-house training and mentorship. The salon lists Profile Medical Aesthetics Spa as a related spa.
