Rebecca founded Lady Neptune in response to beauty culture that leaves people feeling they have to prove they belong before they are welcome. The salon describes itself as a space for people who have never fit neatly into conventional beauty expectations, and it calls itself LGBTQIA+-affirming.
The University District location is a brief walk from the University District light rail station. Its Capitol Hill space dates to the 1910s and sits at the intersection of Olive and Denny. Both are open every day. University District hours differ depending on the weekday, while Capitol Hill runs 10 AM to 8 PM daily.
Visits begin with a consultation, and each service is tailored to the client's needs and preferences. The salon works with a diverse clientele and says it aims to give clients a style they know how to wear afterward. Clients book online in advance, as walk-ins are not accepted, and each stylist sets their own pricing and cancellation terms. Parking near the salon is mostly limited to two hours, so for longer appointments the salon recommends Brooklyn Avenue, where there is no timed parking.
Each stylist runs their own business and manages their own schedule and clientele. Stylists share education, compare formulas, and collaborate across chairs, and the salon says it wants to foster a Seattle community that values individuality and artistry. According to the salon, the Seattle Times named it the top hair salon in Seattle in 2024 and 2025, and the salon says it was the only Gold recipient among Seattle hair salons in both years.
Each service starts with a consultation and is shaped around the individual client, with the aim that the client leaves knowing how to style the result. The salon describes itself as LGBTQIA+-affirming and says it values individuality.
The Capitol Hill studio occupies a historic 1910s building at the corner of Olive and Denny.
