Lacquer Lounge opened in 2012 and has two locations, one in Philadelphia and one in West Palm Beach, Florida. Manicures and pedicures are the core of the menu, alongside gel and structured gel work, nail extensions, custom nail art, hard wax body waxing, brow and lash services, and private infrared sauna suites.

The salon describes itself as a socially conscious, pro-health nail and beauty destination and as a leading one in Philadelphia; these are its own claims. It says all of its professionals are licensed and trained. It also lists recognition from Best of Philly, Allure Best of Beauty, Philly Style, Nails Magazine, American Salon and Nail Pro, including a Best Manicure mention from Philly Style and a Best Pedicure 2024 entry in that magazine's Best of Beauty issue.

Appointments are encouraged at both locations, and walk-ins are welcome when there is availability. A credit card is needed to hold every appointment and is charged only after services are completed, or for a late cancellation or no-show. Changes need at least 24 hours' notice, and guests more than ten minutes late may have their service shortened or cancelled with full fees applying. Groups of more than four are not served. Tips are cash only, and payment is accepted by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and Apple Pay as well as cash, but not by check.

Gel removal has to be booked as part of an appointment, and full-service fees apply if it was not booked. The salon does not remove acrylic or dip powder and does not offer those services. Guests who are unhappy with their work should contact the salon within 24 hours so it can be repaired, fixed or redone. Guests can ask for a specific technician when booking online. The salon does not serve guests with contagious conditions or visible signs of infection that may need medical attention.

All manicures are waterless, and waterless pedicures are offered as an alternative to a traditional soak. Single-use files, buffers, pumice stones, toe separators and pedi flops are used, metal tools are sterilized in a medical-grade autoclave, and jet-free pedicure tubs are sanitized with hospital-grade disinfectant after each use.

Waterless pedicures take place in a lower lounge with recliners, and a Silent Treatment option is available for guests who prefer less conversation.
