La Chella Bella

La Chella Bella is a one-person freelance hair and makeup practice based in Palm Desert. In-salon appointments take place at Mackay Beauty Studios on El Paseo Drive. The owner also travels to clients for weddings, events and destination elopements, and takes bookings across California, or does hair and makeup at a client's home or hotel room with a mobile kit.

Bridal work is the core of the practice. A bridal trial usually runs two to three hours, can cover hair and makeup together or just one of the two, and is documented with photos and video. Trials can be extended to other members of the bridal party. On the wedding day, the artist works at the client's home or venue. Group packages are available for bridal parties, mothers, bridesmaids and friends, and video or FaceTime consultations are offered for couples who cannot attend a trial in person. Wedding packages are quoted privately based on location, schedule and services, and travel fees are set by distance and logistics.

Beyond bridal services, the studio provides in-salon haircuts, color and highlights, extensions and treatments, plus fashion styling, special-event work, in-home visits and private lessons. Makeup is applied with professional brands and high-end products selected to hold up through a full wedding day, and clients leave a wedding day service with a touch-up kit. Weddings and special events are typically reserved six to twelve months in advance, with peak seasons filling earliest, while in-salon appointments are usually booked a week or two ahead. Cancellations require at least 48 hours' notice. For weddings and large bookings, deposits cannot be recovered, and a cancellation made inside the 30-day window can result in the remaining balance being charged. The studio is open Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 6pm and is closed Tuesday through Thursday.
