KV Lash Folsom

K&V Lash Studio, also known as KV Lash, is an eyelash extension studio with several locations. The Bellevue, Washington studio is inside Phenix Salon in Room 113, and the California studios are in Sacramento and nearby towns including Rocklin, Lincoln, Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, Folsom, Stockton, Milpitas, Vacaville and San Jose.

Extension styles run from classic and hybrid, which mix classic and volume lashes, through light 3D-5D volume, dramatic volume and mega volume. Volume fans can be handmade or pre-made. Handmade fans are built by one artist without machinery, usually during the appointment, with lashes pulled in groups of two up to ten. They can also be made ahead and stored in a pill-box-style container. Pre-made fans are assembled in advance by a lash supplier with some machine help and shipped on a tray. The studio says its handmade fans are extremely lightweight and that pre-made fans and cluster lashes are less healthy for natural lashes.

Prices depend on the artist's experience level. Junior artists, with under six months of experience, offer lower-priced full sets and refills. Regular artists, with one to four years of experience, and master artists, with more than five years, have their own price lists for sets, fills and the dramatic and mega styles. Fills for volume, hybrid, classic, dramatic and mega styles cost $10 more when the lashes are over three weeks old, depending on their condition. Paying in cash takes $5 off a new set and $3 off a refill.

Clients book online through the studio's Square page after choosing a location. A $20 non-refundable deposit holds the appointment and is credited toward the service on the day. Confirmation messages go out two days and one day before, with a call the morning of, and unconfirmed appointments are cancelled. During a visit clients lie flat in a recliner for 90 to 120 minutes. First-time clients are asked to arrive 15 minutes early and returning clients 5 minutes early. Clients who wear makeup are asked to come 10 minutes earlier for cleansing pads. Before the appointment, clients should skip eye makeup, oil-based remover, face cream or sunscreen near the eyes, mascara, and eyelash curling.

Policies cover rescheduling, cancellations and lateness. Changes made within 24 hours cost $20, and bookings made less than 24 hours ahead cannot be changed. A no-show is charged $20 at the next visit, and two no-shows end future bookings. Clients more than 15 minutes late may be rescheduled and charged the full service price. Fixes are free only if reported within five days, and product purchases are final. The minimum age for services is 18, and clients aged 16 and younger may be served with a parent or guardian. The studio does not guarantee full satisfaction for clients coming in with another salon's lashes. Free services are offered to models in the student training program, with a $20 deposit that is returned when the model attends.
