KT Hair Design is a small studio in unit 901 at 28375 Davis Parkway in Warrenville. Katie is the stylist behind the work, and the studio welcomes clients from Chicago's western suburbs.

Invisible Bead Extensions are the studio's main specialty. The extensions are attached with sewn wefts, without glue, tape or heat, and the beads and attachment points are hidden so clients can wear ponytails and updos. New clients begin with a free 30-minute consultation. Returning IBE clients usually come back for a move-up about every 8 to 10 weeks, and re-installs are scheduled every 6 to 10 weeks. Extension hair and wefts are bought separately from the install price.

Color services cover custom foiling in several sizes of refresh, permanent color, demi-permanent gloss, high-impact blonding, lived-in blonding and bronding. Refresh foiling is for returning clients keeping an existing color. The menu also includes haircuts for adults and girls, bang trims, and tape-in extensions by request for select clients. Styling includes luxury blowouts, dry styles, half-up formal styles and upstyling, plus in-salon bridal trials and bridal styles. Golden Veil Bridal, a separate team of hair and makeup artists, provides on-site bridal services.

A few services depend on the hair arriving in a certain state. IBE re-installs and dry styles need clean, completely dry hair without oils or heavy product, and dry styles do not include a wash or blowout. Base retouch only does not include a finishing style, so clients leave with damp hair.

Each visit starts with a conversation about the client's hair, lifestyle and goals. Extensions are placed with attention to scalp comfort, weight balance and limited tension on natural hair.
