Korean Skin Theory

Korean Skin Theory was founded by Sunny, an esthetician with over 14 years in the field. The studio's approach draws on advanced Korean skincare techniques and treats skin as part of overall health. Lifestyle, stress, environment, diet and daily habits are seen as shaping skin as much as products do.

A visit begins with an evaluation of the skin on the day, looking at sensitivity, dehydration, congestion, inflammation and how well the skin is functioning, and the facial is tailored from there. First-time clients should allow an extra 10 to 15 minutes for consultation and skin analysis. The Customized Essentials Facial, about 85 minutes and $360, centers on cleansing, exfoliation, nourishment and barrier support, with gentle attention to the eye area and neck. The Customized Premier Facial, about 100 minutes and $460, is built around lifting, firming, brightening, oxygenation or deep hydration, and adds hairline care and a decollete massage.

The Advanced Skin Resurfacing Treatment is a 90-minute appointment, with the approach chosen and tailored to each client's skin condition, sensitivity, barrier function and long-term objectives. It targets uneven texture, scarring from acne, dark spots, damage from sun exposure, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged-looking pores, lack of radiance and congestion. Option 1 is $399 and typically brings roughly 5 to 7 days of downtime. Option 2 is $499, with little to no downtime, and most clients are able to wear makeup that same day. Package rates are offered for either option. While healing early on, it is best to avoid intense exercise, heavy perspiration, and time in saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs or pools, and to stay away from extreme warmth.

Booking requires a $100 deposit that cannot be applied to treatment costs. It can be kept for a future appointment or refunded after treatment. Appointments must be confirmed by text at least 72 hours ahead, and cancellations or reschedules need at least 72 hours' notice. The studio is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30am to 5:00pm, and special requests outside those hours may be possible subject to availability. Beyond the treatment, clients receive guidance on routines to continue between visits, and the studio sells products from brands including Civasan, La Chomb and ISOV, priced from about $24 to $260, with free shipping on orders over $200.

Each treatment is customized to support the skin barrier and restore balance, with attention to root causes and guidance that carries on between visits.
