A one-on-one braiding session takes about four hours spread over three days and covers shampoo and blow dry technique, parting, two-strand twists, braids and cornrows. The Silk Press Diva membership provides six months of bi-weekly platinum silk press, treatments and trims for $1,500. Mommy and Me Hair Guide is a live tutorial for a parent on washing, detangling, blow drying and parting a child's hair. Policies are clear and worth reading before booking. Braid appointments require a non-refundable deposit at booking, and a few services take a deposit, including Grannie's Knourishment and Mommy and Me at $25 each for new clients and the one-on-one session at $75. Arrivals get a 15-minute grace period, and late arrivals may be charged if time allows. Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows forfeit the full fee and any deposit, and cancellations within 48 hours incur a 50% fee. Cancelled appointments must be booked again rather than moved. Natural hair must be free of braids, twists, rubber bands and beads and fully detangled beforehand. Outside guests are not allowed during appointments, and children should only come along if they are being serviced.

Payment options include cash, Apple Pay and major credit cards, with a 3.5% fee on card payments. In-person Buy Now, Pay Later is available for bookings from $50 to $4,000, subject to approval before the appointment and carrying an 8% service fee. Gift cards come in $50, $75, $100, $200 or a custom amount and are final sale. The salon is open seven days a week, with shorter hours on Mondays and weekends.

The salon says it aims for every visit to feel clean, professional and relaxing, and products are chosen to suit each client's needs.

Water, light snacks, music, TV and coloring books are provided, with kid snacks for younger guests.
