The salon traces back to 1987, when Patricia Kendall, who had worked as a cutter, colorist and personal stylist in New York since the 1960s, opened Kendall's Salon in Orlando. About three years later it moved to Park Avenue in downtown Winter Park and took the name Kendall and Kendall. About three years later it moved to Park Avenue in downtown Winter Park and took the name Kendall and Kendall. Kendall bought the business in 2005, then expanded and renovated the Park Avenue location and built up the team.

The salon aims to give clients healthy, good-looking hair. Its stylists pursue advanced training at Bumble and Bumble University in New York, R + Co in Miami, and Evo Hair in Australia, plus workshops elsewhere across the country. Monthly in-salon sessions keep the team current on new techniques, and visiting colorists and master cutters have come in to teach.

Men's cuts start at $50 and women's cuts start at $90. Cuts include blow-drying and styling, so style is not a separate charge. Blowout and style starts at $55, eyebrow shaping is $20, and the Hydrating Gloss Treatment is $40. All color services are by consultation, and off-site and special event services can be arranged by consultation.

The salon is closed on Sundays and holidays. Cancellations or reschedules made less than 24 hours ahead are charged 50% of the booked services, and no-shows are charged 100%. Interested applicants can send a resume to the front desk.

The main goal is healthy, beautiful hair, supported by ongoing education for the stylists.
