Kelly studied interior design at a private design college, where the focus was on lines, shapes, colors and proportions, and later trained in cosmetology school in Los Angeles. Sculpture design training also shaped a sculptural way of thinking about hair. Kelly has spent about two decades shaping hair and building custom looks for clients.

A visit usually starts with a free 30-minute in-person consultation, booked through the online booking link, to talk through goals and map out a plan. Clients who prefer not to come in first can send a selfie of their hair along with inspiration photos for a digital consultation. Dimensional color sessions take three to four hours and include gloss time, photos, a K18 treatment, luxury shampoo, aromatherapy and a hot towel. Clients typically come in two to four times a year for these sessions, with the color shifting by season.

The studio is open Monday from 11 AM to 7 PM, Tuesday from 7 AM to 7 PM, and Wednesday and Thursday from 7 AM to 4 PM, and is closed Friday through Sunday. Parking is in the lot in front of Lux Salon Suites, and the entrance is at the back of the Hill Center. Prices listed are base prices and can change depending on hair length, density, color used and other factors.

Color and cuts are shaped around each person, with a planned route toward their goals and tips shared along the way.
