Karina Beauty Studio

Karina Beauty Studio is a nail and eyebrow salon in suite 205 on the second floor of the Garza Building on West Jefferson Street in Rockville. The studio is run by its founder, Karina, a nail artist who settled on manicures as a career after trying several other jobs in the United States.

Nail services are the core of the menu. A Russian manicure is a dry manicure that uses an electric file to remove excess skin around the nails, and a smart-disc dry pedicure removes rough skin from the heels. The studio says the pedicure does this in minutes without keratolytics. A four hands service lets a client have a manicure and pedicure at the same time, and it can be combined with eyebrow staining for all three at once. Nail extensions are made with solid gel on upper and lower forms and take about three hours. The studio does not work with acrylic or CNS powder and does not use acetone.

Brow and lash services sit alongside the nail work. Eyebrow staining and eyelash extensions are both offered, and the brow technician considers each client's wishes when choosing shape and color.

The studio says its instruments go through several stages of sterilization and cleaning, and that many clients return because of its focus on safety and sterility. It also says its masters have completed courses in their field.
